“I am done worrying about what the world thinks of me,” says Karan Johar, beating down ‘gay’ rumors

“I am fulfilling my commitments as a human being and as a professional,” says the Dharma Productions chief, Karan Johar. The creator of several hit films that have taken us away from reality, to a wonderland of romance and beauty, Karan has dedicated his life to work, keeping away his personal life from the eyes of the public. After having been subjected to several rumors of him being gay that have been sparked-off to tarnish his image in B-town, Karan has decided to keep his relationships under wraps. Karn Johar

“I will always say and do the right things and be protocol friendly in my dealings, but now I am walking on my own path and creating my own pathway,” said Karan in a recent interview. “I am not looking left or right or worrying about consequences. And this is a conscious decision I made and shared with my mother. I am 40-years-old and I am done worrying about what the world thinks of me…”

Previously, Karan Johar also disregarded the gay rumors that have been hounding him and said, “Obviously if you are single, you are 39, there will be conjecture about your sexuality and your orientation, I have no problem with that, and I am very comfortable with hearing all kinds of rumors that float around, I am very comfortable with what people have to say, their perception of my orientation, what they think, what all they think I am part of, and I have no problem with the territory I can’t be upset or angry about it.”

Not one to be effected by such rumors, Karan has cleared the air of a gay orientation rumor wisely and without succumbing to the pressure. Three cheers for Karan Johar!

Varun Dhawan speaks about his journey to the big-screen

Finding a sure-footed way forward in an industry like Bollywood isn’t all that easy, particularly for a newcomer. Despite being from a deeply-rooted Bollywood background, newcomer Varun Dhawan has had his times of difficulty finding his way to the big screen. The young actor is the son of the veteran filmmaker David Dhawan and the brother of Rohit Dhawan, also a director. Making his debut alongside newcomers Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatvarun dhawan t in Karan Johar’s recent directorial venture titled Student of the Year; Varun seems to have carved a mark for himself in the world of films with his very first movie!

Being the son of a reputed director hasn’t made things easier for Varun however, with the young actor proving himself to be truly talented without the influence of others around him to support his career. “There is no point in complaining as other people go through other things,” said Varun. “This is my journey. Being anyone’s son or daughter doesn’t help you much beyond a point, as that can only get you an entry. It is like goodwill. But eventually we have to work for ourselves and prove it.”

Recently, Varun Dhawan has faced the wrath of link-ups and has been rumored to be dating his co-star Alia Bhatt. While both the youngsters have denied these dating rumors, Varun has also been linked with actress Taapsee Pannu, who will be starring in David Dhawan’s next. None of these dating rumors are true of course and the young actors are busy working on a long and fulfilling career.

Student of the Year, Varun Dhawan’s debut alongside Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra released on the 19th of October, 2012.

We will start shooting in April,” said Siddharth, speaking about the film.

Speaking about his co-star, Siddharth also said, “Parineeti (Chopra) is great…she has got great energy. It is my second film but it actually feels like I am doing my first film. First film chooses you and you choose the second film. So we are becoming the actors that we are.”
